His wife works as an elementary school teacher for the Clovis school district. In September of 2015 they welcomed their daughter Lily Catalina and they also have a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Sonny, who thinks he runs the house. Steve enjoys hiking, traveling, and ocean kayaking.
